The scenery on this painting is identical to the romantic style of that time is painted by the well-known painter Frederik de Moucheron. Unique for his painting was that he painted landscapes in different countries. This is a beautiful version of an Italian landscape. It illustrates a waterfall in the mountainous landscape in the north of Italy. The painting is painted by twilight, with the dark colors on the front and the bright colors of the sunlight still in the back. This painting is framed with a beautiful gold-coloured hand painted 19th-century frame, including a name tag of the painter Moucheron.

Painter
Frederik de Moucheron was a well-known and highly respectable Dutch Golden Age landscape art painter. Frederik de Moucheron painted French, Italian, and Dutch landscapes. Many of his work have been exhibited in the museums, like the Museum in Brussel, Amsterdam (‘Rijksmuseum’), Brunswick, Dresden, Frankfurt, The Hague, Rotterdam (Boymans van Beuningen), Stockholm, Vienna, Copenhagen, Munch, London, Leningrad, Paris, Munich, Haarlem and Vienne. Many of De Moucheron’s work are sold by the world famous auction house Christie’s. Frederik de Moucheron is included in many kinds of literature and the National Art History Documentation Center (RKD) in The Hague, Netherlands, and in the database of the ‘Documentation of Fine Arts’ of South-Holland, part of ‘ART Index’.
