Mother and child on the beach

Oil on canvas, 60 x 80 cm

Painting

This lovely work of art illustrates a mother with her children at the beach. The oldest daughter is walking on her own and helping her mother with the youngest one, for who still needs to get used to the beach. The way they are dressed shows it is not too cold, probably in the summer period when painted. Nevertheless are the colours quite dark, which is identical for Dutch painters in that time. This painting has a contemporary platinum frame.
