The painting with the red azalea’s is one of its kind. It is beautiful detailed and painted by the famous painter J. B. N. van Gent. On this still life, a bouquet of flowers is painted accompanied by a turtle spoon box. This painting ‘Still life with turtle, spoon box and azalea’ is signed on the lower right. The frame is hand painted 19th-century version.

Joannes Baptist Nicolas van Gent, better known as Joan van Gent, was a Dutch art painter and became well-known as art painter in still lives and flowers. Joan van Gent is included in the National Art History Documentation Center (RKD) in The Hague, Netherlands., adn in the ‘Lexicon Dutch Visual Artists 1750 – 1950’ by Pieter A. Scheen.
